The Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the hiring of its new Executive Director, Anne S. Core. Ms. Core comes to the Chamber with over ten years of experience as an association executive and a proven track record for growing and promoting membership organizations through use of strong membership, marketing, fiscal, and operational skills. Her most recent position is that of Executive Vice President with Electronic Messaging Association, a high- tech trade association operating out of Arlington, Virginia which represents corporate users and providers of electronic messaging products and services. Her past experiences also include being the public relations and fundraising director for two chapters of the American Red Cross.

Ms. Core will be the chief employed officer of the Chamber with full authority for the management of its affairs on a day-to-day basis. The Chamber is comprised of some six hundred members employing over 20,000 employees, and its 30 square mile jurisdictional boundaries are defined by the District line to the south, Montrose Road to the north, Rock Creek Park to the east, and the Potomac River to the west.

According to Chamber President Bob Dalrymple: "Our search for a new Executive Director was extensive and thorough. We are extremely excited to have Anne on board to help the Chamber in its continued pursuit of excellence. Her experience, knowledge, and attitude will allow the Chamber to progress to new levels of success as the premier business organization in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase region. Our members and the community at-large will be thrilled with this choice."

Ms. Core resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland along with her husband WMAL radio afternoon host Chris Core, and their three year old daughter, Tabitha. Ms. Core's employment with the Chamber will commence effective July l, 1997.
