The Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce (We, Our, Us) respects the privacy of users who visit each of Our sites within Our network. No effort is made to identify individuals without their knowledge. Our sites are not directed to children. The following policy explains how Your personal information will be treated. Please check back periodically, as this policy may change from time to time.
We may collect personal information from You when you become a member or sign up to attend one of Our events. The information provided to Us, via Our web site or at an event sponsored by Us is used to contact Our members and in keeping with Our mission is used to facilitate member networking. Information collected from Our members is included in Our on-line membership directory. Members are given the option upon registration to have membership information included or excluded from Our directory. We are committed to preventing spamming (the unsolicited sending of commercial e-mail) of Our members and We do not otherwise distribute membership information to third parties.
Our web site does use "cookie" technology. When a visitor accesses Our web site, Our web servers automatically recognize the browser's domain name, IP address, operating system, browser type and version, as well as the referring URL. The information that is recorded is used to diagnose problems with Our server, to track visits to Our web site, and to learn what visitors like and dislike about Our site. Once a visitor leaves Our web site, the "cookie" disappears. As such, Our servers do not record e-mail addresses and the information that they collect does not identify a specific individual.
As a public service, We maintain links to other web sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other sites.
The B-CC Chamber normally does not grant refunds for pre-registered attendance at events, but if you have an unforeseen circumstance and speak to a staff member within three days before an event and the head count has not been given, a refund may be possible.
We are committed to ensuring the security of your information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data integrity, and ensure the appropriate use of information, We have established appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial processes to safeguard and secure Your information. Nevertheless, We are not responsible for any breach of security.
