Smart Business Seminar
Time: 8:30am - 12:00pm

"Firing Without Fear and Other Workplace Concerns" presented by Oppenheimer, Fleischer & Quiggle and Freedman & Freedman
They understand that many area businesses are completely unaware of the large number of employment laws to which they must adhere. While many companies understand prominent prohibitions in the workplace, such as discrimination and sexual harassment, they often are unaware of the intricacies and braod application of these and other employment laws on all aspects of the employment process. Many are also oblivious to the options that exist to protect themselves and their businesses against employment related claims. This seminar will provide you with an overview of your legal rights and obligations, including discussions of the interview and hiring process, at-will employment, employment contracts, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, covenants not-to-compete, wage and hour obligations employment policies, discrimination and harassment, the disciplinary process, and termination.

This exciting "Smart Business Seminar" is free of charge to members of the Chamber ($10 for non-members) and will be presented on November 7th, 2003 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon in the SunTrust Board Room at the Chamber office.
